Hi,

Recently I had to re-install windows vista home premium 32 bit on my older acer aspire laptop. I performed a 'clean installation', everything went well with that operation. I had to install a lot of various updates after doing so, now I get notified via windows update that vista service pack 1 is available for download/installation. when I attempt to perform this action, I get a popup window that notifies me about what to know before installing sp1, then I reach a window where I have to accept the terms of installing the software. Once I click on the little square and accept the terms, it goes to another window with two choices..install & cancel, when I click the install button..instead of windows update downloading and installing the update, I'm presented with the notice from windows update that the update was successfully installed, when in fact it wasn't. I would rather install sp1 via windows update due to supposedly being a smaller size than the stand alone version offered on microsofts website. Has anyone else had this same issue, and if so how did you correct it ? Of course this laptop isn't my main computer, but as it still works pretty well I keep using it.

Thanks,

David
