Can't get update to install, won't go to boot screen

[Windows 11]

I'm running Windows 11 on a Asus vivobook and was working on my desktop when I got a notification that there was a windows update to install, so thinking I'd take a break I selected to "install updates and shut down"So it came up with "You're 0% there etc etc and the swirling. But it's stuck on that and hasn't moved for hours, I can't get to the desktop at all as when I turn the computer on it goes right to the update screen again.Can you help?
