Can't connect to wifi

Hello my hp pavilion recently stopped showing me the option to connect to wifi, when I ran the troubleshooter it said WiFi connection is adaptor is off I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I reset the computer thinking if I started from scratch it would be fixed but when I got to the network part of the windows setup it says let's connect to a network and the only option is Ethernet 2 not connected to lz help me
