I bought a new PC recently which came with Windows 10 Home. It also included physical media and a Windows 10 Home product key (though the PC doesn't have a CD-ROM).Shortly after setup, the PC prompted me to upgrade to Windows 11, which I did, but it then required activation. I didn't have a product key for Windows 11 Home. I attempted to activate it with a generic product key because I didn't understand the difference between and usage of product keys vs digital licenses.
