Cannot Turn-on Windows Defender

Very annoying, Widows 10 completely hangs after a few minutes and must unplug power to get hassle free startup. For about 10 days now Windows Defender demands TURN ON with Message Some history items cannet be displayed. NOTHING happens when TURN ON button is cursor pressed. Error messages 0x800705b4 and 0x8050800d. Did run sfc /scannow many times and DISM ..>>/Scanhealth and /Restorehealth. Still cannot turn on Windows Defender. Dual 2.53 CPU with 4Gb on SMI N-Force Chipset MB. Also PC wont Reset. Why is Win 10 upgrade so troublesome?
