Here is our scenario: Our student population is currently using Office 365. Our staff and faculty are currently using Lotus Notes, but we are going to be migrating to Office 365 at the end of May. We want to give our Administrative assistants some practice time with Outlook, so we are trying to connect Outlook to their Student email accounts. We use ADFS in our environment as well. What we are trying to accomplish is that the Admin assistant is logged into the computer with their staff accounts, but are trying to set up Outlook with Office 365 with their student email address.
Outlook connects fine to Office 365 through the setup process but at the end we are getting the error similar to "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\Users\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\MyName.ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost)"
I have no idea why this is happening other than it might be because the user is logged onto the computer with their staff account and trying to setup Outlook with their student account. ADFS issue?
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be happy to read them.
Thanks
Joe
