Cannot project my PC to TV via wireless connection anymore

I have a smart TV and I can connect my laptop via project screen wireless connection, this was working fine and one day it would not connect, so I tried troubleshooting and somebody told me to press windows button plus the K button which I did and it brought up a menu to project to my PC not me project. After playing with this and it not working I gave up on it, I ended up figuring out that my bf's laptop was connected but he wasn't actually on it so that's why it wouldn't originally connect.
