Cannot detect proxy settings

I downloaded .NET framework 4.7.2 on my PC as advised by Bitdefender (I have their Total Security package) because their VPN would no longer connect on my PC nor my husband’s laptop too. I now cannot access the Internet and after using Windows Network Diagnostics, it shows: “Windows could not automatically detect this network’s proxy settings - Detected”. Also, Bitdefender VPN is still not connecting but that is probably because I cannot connect to the Internet.
