Cannot attach folder in Google Mail

Running Windows 11 on a desktop and using Gmail. A picture based folder (5MB jpegs) will not attach to email. If I open the folder and drag an individual picture (1.3MB) to email it will attach. I have disabled One Drive and tried turning firewall off, neither of which works. I can attach other files but not this folder.Thanks,Roc
