Cancel Windows update option to Windows 11

Normally when my PC is powered up, I receive a prompt to enter a 4 digit code before I can enter Windows 10. Out of habit when entering a code, most people press <ENTER> although on this occasion one need not press <ENTER>. Unfortunately, two days ago I pressed <ENTER>, and the result was that an automatic question had already come up on whether I wanted to update to Windows 11 and my computer perceived the key stroke as being an answer to that question and was now telling me it would update to Windows 11.
