Can people get access to my computer if I for example accidentally downloaded something and is it possible to fix this by factory resetting my pc?

So basically some days ago I was out with my friends while my little brother was home and he "accidentally" downloaded something and i didn't know how to fix it. I got outlogged from my administration account so I got into safe mode and factory reset my pc. Pls help
