Can not associate file type to app

I am very computer literate and have done app->file type associations in Windows 10 many times. I am having issues with Windows 11 with this. I have an application that is working on Windows 11. It is an older app that I own. I have "moved" this app from a Windows 10 machine. There is no install. I only need to click on the .exe to run it. This app is therefore not seen in the Apps listing within Windows 11.
