Can I have ribbon buttons without icons?

I use Outlook for Office 365 MSO (16.0.11328.20438). The buttons on the ribbon near the top have both icons and text, e.g. an iconf of an envelope and "New Email", a trash can and "Delete". This makes the ribbon more than half an inch tall. I could remove the ribbon entirely but I lose the convenience. Is there a way to not have the icons (the little pictures) but just the text ("New Email" etc.) on the buttons of the ribbon?
