Can I change the default app of one particular file without changing it for all files of that type?

I have an app specifically made to open one file in a particular way, but it doesn't work with any other file of that type. For them I use a different app.I can just drag the file to the app or select "open with" each time but I'm looking for convenience. Can I change this one file's default app to this app while leaving all other files of that type to be opened with the other app?
