c000021a fatal system error on Windows 10

I have upgraded windows 7 on my hp PC to windows 10 long ago and it's been running perfectly until I hit, by mistake, the "SYSTEM RECOVERY F11" in the BIOS menu. It brought me back to what looked like a windows 7 boot screen, then straight to the famous “c000021a fatal system error” blue screen. Tried much of the help offered on the net, F8 with safe mode, last known good configuration, none worked.I happen to have the win 7 boot CD from 2010.
