BSOD / crash after waking up from sleep mode (Windows 7 Home Premium)

Are an of the updates (security and other) from 2018 known to cause issues, whether alone or in connection with other updates or specific software / settings?


A couple of times in the past week I had the issue that windows crashed after waking up from sleep mode. The first time I got a BSOD the instant I presed a key to end sleep mode and just now the screen remained black while my pc made worrying alarm sounds periodically. When I rebooted my Bios instantly started up without input but crashed right away.

Only after leaving the pc completely off for a few minutes I've been able to start Windows again.


And I can't help but think it's related to a recent Windows 7 update as I never had either issue before and waking up from sleep mode was always smooth.


For now I uninstalled my most recent update (after waking up from sleep mode (KB4457008) but of course I am not actually sure this is reason for the problems. Just seems that if my problems started roughly a week ago the update I installed a week ago is most likely the cause.
