Brother MFC-9070CDW Scan to Email Function no longer works

My Brother MFC-9070CDW prints okay but the scan to email function used to work but it doesn't now, and Brother says it is a problem with the email server that I use which is Outlook and some new Microsoft authentication protocol. So, how can I fix this when every possible setting changes have been tried, and I am still left without this functionality. Is there a fix for this?
