Brand new windows 11 product key not working on new PC

Recently built a PC and got to the step where I install windows 11. Nothing seems to be wrong with running the program and installing via DVD. For some reason the product key isn’t being accepted by the system. There is no error code and I cannot open the command prompt. I bought the copy from newegg, which I believe gets it directly from Microsoft. Can somebody help?
