Brand new desktop and laptop. Can I link the two together to share files and keep both computers operating the same?

I just purchased a brand new lap top and brand new desktop. Desktop has Windows Pro, Laptop has Windows home. I backed up my desktop to my old computer, great no problems. Now, if I back up my new laptop to my new desktop, will that effect the new desktop? Can I use both from that point on sharing files through OneDrive? Basically I want to use both computers interchangeably including emails. Is that something Windows does and or you can help me with?Can I synchronize the emails and files between the laptop and desktop going both ways?Rick
