I am having problems pairing ANY bluetooth headphones or headsets to my Windows 10 PC.

When I try to pair any headphones it finds them and seems to sucessfully pair, but they do not connect. When I click connect I get the error :

"That didn't work. Make sure you Bluetooth device is discoverable, then try again."

I get this same issue for :

Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II headphones

LHB15 Headphones

MPOW M5 Headset

I also get the same issue for 2 different bluetooth controllers.

One is the onboard Bluetooth controller built into my Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard and the other is a MPOW Bluetooth 4.0 USB dongle.

(when I use the USB dongle I disable my onboard bluetooth device in the BIOS to avoid any conflicts)

I have tried upading to the latest drivers for both bluetooth conrollers and also tried older drivers as a test with no luck.

I have tried disabling/enabling and removing/re-adding the bluetooth controllers in device manager. Also removing the headphone devices and re-adding them multime times obviously.

I have also tried restarting the Bluetooth Support Service and setting it to Automatic.

The only sound devices shown are the ones below (The headphones one listed are my Oculus VR headset wired device so ignore that) :

I am running Windows 10 release 2004 (Version 10.0.19041.572) with all the latest updates.

So based on the fact that multiple headsets, multiple Bluetooth controllers with different drivers are showing the same problem, it is clear that something isn't right within Windows 10.

Is there a way to completely wipe the bluetooth cache and bluetooth related drivers?

Is there anything else that can be done to debug this?

Please don't suggest the basic troubleshooting links that usually get posted in these forums as these simple things have all been checked.

Also please don't suggest re-install as that isn't an option either.

Thanks,

Richard.
