Bluetooth earbuds connect immediately, but I usually have to disconnect and reconnect several times before they work.

Hello everyone.I've been having this strange problem with Windows 10 and my Bluetooth headsets (all Sony WI-C400), ever since I started using the headsets with this Surface tablet. (Hardware and OS details below.) It's not a problem of the computer not recognizing the headset I want to use; each headset has a unique device name and connects almost immediately to the computer after I enable Bluetooth and power up the headset.
