Blue screen error

While composing an email my computer it went to a blue screen and indicated an error occurred and your computer must restart. Upon doing so the screen was on my display was extremely wide. I could not access the windows symbol to shut down the computer since it was off screen. I shut it down manually. Upon restart hours later the screen was now normal size. Now I could not access the windows icon in the extreme lower left of Windows 10 by left clicking it. I found if I RIGHT clicked it I had a list of options (one of which is to shut down. I could no longer access any of the programs that normally appear when you right click on the icon. Also my task bar options in Explorer was missing some items. I still have enough control to surf the web and access my email. Any ideas???
