You can open multiple tabs by listing multiple URLs as Homepages. For example, you can list www.yahoo.com, www.google.com, and www.msm.com, and you will have three tabs open everytime you start IE. The first tab will contain Yahoo!, and if you set New Tabs to display the First Homepage, then those tabs will display Yahoo! also. If you want Google to be the first homepage, then make it first in the list. All of these settings can be found in TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS, General Tab.
