Split from this thread. My Acer has continually had this problem for years. After every update I go at least a couple of hours if not days before it decides to start. I take it in to the local Combat Computers and lo and behold, it's working. However, this time it has been 4 days of black screen. So overnight on Monday the updates downloaded.Tuesday morning, initially, I had the Acer logo, as is normal. for an hour and then the black screen. I tried cnt/alt/delete. I tried holding the power button for 30 sec. I tried dancing on my head. Every morning, the same black screen. I've also tried
