Bitlocker

I have an hp elite dragonfly G2. While doing an update, the laptop said it could not complete the update and asked for a bitlocker key. I never enabled bitlocker and didn’t know I had this on my laptop. Nevertheless, I went to my Microsoft account which has my laptop’s info, but under the security tab, it states there is no bitlocker key for this device. 1. How is this possible? 2. I was told it was set up like this from factory. Is this true? 3. I was also advised that hp has a volume or master key. Can someone provide some assistance. This is very frustrating.
