BitLocker to Go fails to generate recovery key with match for Key ID of BitLocker on mother PC

Hello, I would be grateful for help on a BitLocker problem relating to external hard drives. The initial steps for installing BitLocker to Go on the target external hard drive went smoothly, until the popup window showed the recovery key with the warning that the first part of this generated recovery key must match the Key ID of your saved recovery key (I took that to mean the Key ID that is shown alongside the Device Name and Recovery Key on the Key Upload Date for my Windows 11 PC). The first part of the recovery key (first 8 digits) on BitLocker to Go never matched the saved BitLocker Key I
