BitLocker Key

Hi, I'm trying to clone a laptop hard drive from a dead computer to a new one. This has worked OK before but this time around I get an access denied message. Microsoft Account BitLocker search only found my laptop key. Clone enclosure D drive is not recognised. I get the unlock key message box but I don't have it. Help needed. TIA
