Bitlocker Issue with D drive

I have my laptop with 2 drives and one of them was ency with bitlocker w/o my approval somehow.After 2 months I put the hdd back and now it is asking recovery id.Looks like it is old on the disk and when I use the key unfortunately recovery ID is not being found in our system.What should I do ? Keep the laptop on the network for recovery key creation ?Thanks
