BITLOCKER - is there a way around the Password/KEY?

Alright folks. I am sooo frustrated! I inherited a laptop from an elder relative who recently passed, and they rarely used it, it's is very good shape - a Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 10 or 11. Can't tell, because BITLOCKER has me locked OUT. No one knows where the PASSWORD/KEY is - HELP! Is there a way around this? I have a WINDOWS 11 BOOT USB that I've had from my personal laptop if needed?
