Automatic Updates!!!!

After numerous and repeated trails and errors, I have finnaly got my Windows
XP SP2 working again. Unfortunetly, a huge list of updates downloaded, does
not install onto my pc. I have repeatedly tried to update by switching of and
clicking on the update button to noavail. Can somebody give me some answers
to my dellema!!!!! Please!!!
