Audio muted in other apps while using bluetooth headphones

I have a W11 (issue started with W10 and over a year ago), HP laptop. I have it connected to Bluetooth headphones or earbuds that have a microphone. This has happened with multiple devices: Samsung buds, Marley headphones, MPOW headphones, all wireless and with mic.The scenarios:I pause Spotify and WMP to listen to an audio msg from the WhatsApp desktop app. When I am done listening to the audio and minimize the WhatsApp window, the other 2 apps sound is muted when I resume playing either one or both. I can't hear anything until I switch the sound output from the BT device to the PC or monitor
