Audio keeps muting itself.

No matter what im doing, playing a game, listening to Spotify, watching youtube, my audio will randomly cut out and I have to mute and unmute. It does not say my audio is muted when this occurs but the solution is muting and unmuting. Any ideas what can cause this?
