I upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago without any problems. A week ago the wireless icon got an X and was unable to connect to router. I went to my internet provider and he said the router was fine. I used their tech "expert" and he concluded the network card was turned off.
I tried to turn on the network adapter through Services. But, when I slid it to on, it went back to off immediately
I saw another ASUS user online user who had the same connection problem. He downloaded a Windows 10 network adapter driver from ASUS and it solved the problem. I tried to update my Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 with windows 10, but it is only supported up to windows 7. ASUS tech support confirmed this.
So, I reinstalled windows 7 home premium. The x is still there, but when I ask to trouble shoot, it turns on the connection and I can connect. But, I have to do this workaround every time I log on.
Any suggestions??
