Asus Laptop Windows reset and add new Microsoft Account

My friend is purchased brand new Asus laptop and it's has activated Windows 11 Home version installed by Asus company . So now he change his mind and he try to sell it to me. But he already activate that laptop with his Microsoft account. So, if i perches that laptop from him, can i reset Windows and login with my Microsoft Account ? And can i use continuously original Windows 11 version ( it's free installed comes with Asus laptop ) with my Microsoft account?
