Anyone with a sound issue when casting Windows 11?

New Asus laptop Windows 11. When casting using chromecast sound is heard from both the laptop and tv. My previous laptop another Asus with Windows 10 automatically muted sound at laptop. Sound and music is now unlistenable on new set up with tv on one side of room and laptop on the opposite side. The sound or music is also out of sync which compounds the problem. Asus support next to useless. Anyone help?
