ALL MY FILES ON DESKTOP ARE GONE !!!! YEARS OF WORK GONE !!!!

They updated my Windows and when my computer restarted all my Desktop files were gone. Some of the most important files were on my Desktop so I can readily use them. Years of work is now fragmented...Restore my computer did nothing. Microsoft needs to restore my files or I will sue for my loss.UPDATE: After looking into other files it's MUCH worse...the majority of all my projects are gone. Pretty much ruined everything
