After unlinking PC and uninstalling OneDrive ThisPC>Documents folder still points to User>OneDrive>Documents

I wish to stop using OneDrive and backing up my Documents folder to Dropbox. I unlinked my account and PC from OneDrive and uninstalled OneDrive but when I tried to sync my Documents folder to Dropbox it said it was still backing up to OneDrive. When I checked the Properties the Documents folder under ThisPC indeed shows location as User>OneDrive>Documents. How can I reset the Documents folder to be the systems folder not linked to OneDrive?? I came across this thread with the same problem but the fix mentioned apparently led to an additional issue.
