"Activate Windows" randomly appeared on home-built Windows 11

An "Activate Windows" message randomly appeared on my machine, about a year after I built it. I don't have the activation code anymore, and want to avoid buying a new license for no reason. The license I purchased was from Amazon, but they confirmed it was directly from Microsoft and was legitimate. The error code in my settings is 0x80072EE7. Troubleshooting doesn't find anything. I got a 5-minute fix by manually activating software protection in services, but now that it's running the message came back. Any other ideas?Thank you.
