Acct recovery help

My son has an account: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** that suddenly is no longer there but when he goes to create a new account with that email it says it’s already in use. He’s able to have a recovery code sent to his email so it’s clear it’s still in use but he can’t login anymore. How can he recover his acct? It’s tied to a school project he can’t access without it…please advise.Thank you! Suzanne
