accidentally changed my file opener

so I changed the default file thing so when i open a file it automatically opens to the internet explorer I'm trying to get forge Minecraft and when I go to open it, it just download it again, I've already seen the other questions like this and I've tried to do it but it never works I've downloaded apps and non of them allow me to run the installer and I've also looked up tons of videos non of them helped
