I have 2 personal home computers running Windows 7 Professional within the last month or so. The first PC is one that I use for experimentation and I can take greater risks with it. My newer one is necessary for me to remote in to my work and also do my personal bookkeeping. The 2 computers don't connect together but each uses a DSL Connection one at a time so no problem with cross infection. All the first PC does is search for updates for a long time and finds nothing though I know that it has been April 2016 since it received Updates. I have searched several IT sites and there seems to be some chatter that there may be a global Windows Update issue with Windows 7. First, does anyone know of any reported issues affecting Windows 7 Updates? I ran McAfee AV Scan and Malwareybytes scans and found nothing. One site suggested loading 4 KBs: 3083710, 3102810, 3138612, & 3145739. I ran the Standalone Updater for all of them though the third one had already been installed. Per the Tech Site I set WU to never check for updates and rebooted. Note that the Updates all did install using the Standalone. Ran WU again and got the same searching for Updates for over an hour. Other websites work fine. I turned off McAfee Real Time Scanning and Firewall but still no patches found. I then went to the Microsoft site and ran the Updates Fixit. Rebooted with the same results. I haved saved the Windows Update Log and Application Event Log. However, I can see how to upload them to this post. Tried to copy the contents of WU Log but it must have been too large and locked up the post screen. Any help on this computer will be appreciated.

The second computer is a bit different in that it found 15 patches but wouldn't download anything or increment the Windows Update Log for over an hour. However, while I was typing this post it did start to download one update so I will see how that goes. My Internet connection speed seems normal for other websites.
