i am getting this error when trying to do an update, no matter microsoft
update or windowsupdate, i always get this error.

all other computers on the same network are working just fine with the
updates.

i tried troubleshooting the firewall, i disabled the firewall, i tried
anything i could imagine plus what DELL told me to do and plus what i found
on this discussion board NOTHING HELPED.

i am still getting this error.

Please Advice.
 
I am having the same problem on my Dell, and it's getting pretty
annoying being told I need to install it.
 
0x80190193 = The client does not have sufficient access rights to the
requested server object. Cannot execute requested URL in the current
application pool IIS returns this error in some transient error cases
too such as 403.9 -- Forbidden: Too many clients are trying to connect
to the Web server.403.15 -- Forbidden: Client access licenses have
exceeded limits on the Web server.

It's possible that the MS Update sites are too busy ?

Advise you to check the hosts file and any *popup|ad blocking software*
to see if any of those are preventing access to Windows Update.
If an installed Toolbar contains a popup blocker, that may be the culprit.

Also, check to see that the latest version of the Windows Update Agent
[WUA] is installed.
Check the version number of wuaueng.dll in the WINDOWS\system32
subdirectory
Show hidden files, folders, and system files [ALL versions of Windows]:

Then locate wuaueng.dll
Right click it, choose Properties, then click the Version tab
If the latest version of WUA is installed, it will be at 7.0.6000.374
If it is not, then go here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932494

Scroll down to: Download information
Download and save the WUA for either x86 [32 bit] or x64 [64 bit]

*** IF *** this is NOT a Vista system, then also download and save
KB927891: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927891/
Scroll down to > Step 1: Download and install update 927891
Choose the proper download for the OS installed

SAVE both updates.
Install the Windows Update Agent first, then install KB927891.
Restart the system
Try to access either Windows or Microsoft Update.

Bernie, that is basically a 403 (Page not found) error. Hex 0193= Decimal
403.

One common cause for this is having a firewall block the WU/MU website. But
see you have already explored that avenue pretty thoroughly. So, lets look
elsewhere.

It could be a redirection issue. On the Start/Run line Enter "net stop
wuauserv" and then delete the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\WuRedir
folder. Next, and just to be sure that system is working with the correct
support files, download and install this WU/MU set of files (this is for
32-bit Windows):
http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe

Next, clear the browser TIF, History, and Cookies. Now do a Restart and
then try WU again.
